The past couple of weeks have been very strange and eventful. A global pandemic, a collapsing economy, and uncertainty everywhere.
I remember writing in a previous newsletter that the following weeks are going to change the way we approach certain aspects of our lives.
For me, it is already happening and I noticed the following changes in my world view.
Alarmism is not that bad. I was all for climate change activism but very critical of climate change alarmists. And then the pandemic happened and I had front row seats to see how a group of alarmists were right from the very beginning when seemingly everyone was in denial. For what its worth, I am going to re-evaluate my position on climate change alarmism when all this is over; because it’s better to err on the side of caution with matters involving life and death.
In a time of crisis, we need big governments. In other words, there are no libertarians in a time of crisis; and I learned this the hard way.
Schools are overrated. I had the opportunity to hear from parents who are homeschooling their children for the first time and I noticed the following recurring talking points.
i) Schools are falling behind in learning efficiency.
ii) Schools are turning into indoctrination camps.
We have enough tools to help us work remotely. But when it comes to homeschooling, our tooling and resources are rather limited. I think there is a huge opportunity in building tools for parents to provide their children with a good learning experience from the comfort of their homes.
What changes did you notice in your lives since the virus? I’d love to hear from you.
Stay home, stay safe ❤️
